Weekly Bulletin

Sep. 04, 2018

As we begin a new year together, please remember that daily attendance is extremely important and directly related to student success. School attendance is a primary responsibility of every student and family and demonstrates family commitment to HSHMC and its program for student success. Therefore, students are expected to maintain 100% attendance. If a student misses school, the student is expected to make up that time by attending an extended day program, such as Saturday school.

If your child is going to be absent, please call the school at 619-528-9070. We ask that you also review our attendance policy located in the student handbook posted on our website.

Although attending Saturday School is not an ideal way to compensate for actually attending school regularly, if absences do occur, a student may clear one school absence for each Saturday School attended. Our first Saturday School scheduled is this Saturday, September 8, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Students must stay the entire time to get credit for their absence.

In preparation for our health internship program this year, as a convenience, Sharp HealthCare will be on campus next Tuesday, September 11 to administer TB tests and flu shots required for students enrolled in a hospital internship. These requirements must be met before a student can attend their internship which begins the week of September 17. Permission forms are being home with your child and must be returned by Friday. A copy of the permission forms can also be downloaded from our website. No student will be given the required shots without parent permission.

If you have not already done so, we also need students to return their college form required for us to enroll them in a college course this semester. In addition, please return the free or reduced lunch form or fill out the on-line application located on our website.

HSHMC Alumni,

We are interested in learning about the experiences and achievements of our graduates. In particular, we want to learn more about the paths our graduates take after their years at HSHMC.

We invite our graduates to participate in a 10 minute survey to help us reconnect, update contact information, and learn about experiences after HSHMC.

Responses are completely confidential. This means that we will not identify names with answers in any report. We may quote the information provided, but it will not be attributed by name.

We hope to reach as many graduates as possible. Therefore, please share this message and link to the survey to other graduates you may have contact with.

Take the survey
