Quarter 3 progress reports have been mailed home and should arrive any day if they have not already. Please also take time to read the general school information included with the mailing. And, as you review your child's grades, please remember that students with incompletes are expected to attend academic recovery during lunch and after school until all incompletes are cleared.
High school families, please also remember that there is now Academic Recovery and Advancement from 1:00-3:00 pm on Fridays. This session is especially designed for students who are carrying incompletes or want to advance their grades. If your student has carried at least one incomplete for 6 weeks or more they must attend this session. This includes all students still carrying semester one and Q3 incompletes.
To continue to inform and involve families in our efforts to design the most exciting, engaging and effective education for our student body, we invite you parents and guardians to take our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) survey. The survey and more information about the LCAP can been found on our website at www.hshmc.org. Your opinion matters. Please take a few minutes to visit our site and take the survey.
This Friday our high school students have an opportunity to protest the violence in schools and the lack of change that has occurred to stop it by participating in the April 20 National Walkout. Participation is a choice and regular classes will be in session for students who choose not to participate. Those who want to participate must pick up a one-day attendance contract from Mr. Kennedy and have it signed by a parent/guardian before Friday. Students participating will meet at HSHMC at 8:00 am and walk 3 miles to Balboa Park. We will not be walking back from Balboa Park as a group to HSHMC and therefore students must find their own transportation home. Students with scheduled college classes or internships on Friday must attend those classes instead of participating in the march. If you have any questions, please contact the school.
Thank you and have a great week!
